The Norns — The Forces That Set the Path in Motion

The reason a Council is needed at all.

In the old stories, the Norns did not command armies or shape tools.
They shaped possibility.

Urd — what has been woven.
Verdandi — what is unfolding now.
Skuld — what may yet demand courage.

They were not advisors.
They were the unseen ground beneath every decision,
and every journey.

In Handimovers, the Norns are not characters but conditions:

  • The terrain that changes without warning.

  • The needs that arise before we are ready.

  • The consequences of choosing motion over stagnation.

  • The responsibility we carry when someone trusts us with their path.

The Council exists because of them
because movement is never only mechanics,
and choices are never only technical.

Where the Norns pull the thread,
the Council must answer:

How do we build for what comes next?
How do we protect those who move?
How do we carry wisdom into the work?

The Norns do not guide us.
They compel us.

Handimovers stands where their threads meet:
between need and courage,
between risk and independence,
between the path behind
and the path ahead.
