The Norns — The Forces That Set the Path in Motion

The reason a Council is needed at all.

In the old stories, the Norns did not command armies or shape tools.

They shaped the course — not by command, but by consequence.

Urd — what has been woven.
Verdandi — what is unfolding now.
Skuld — what may yet demand courage.

They were not advisors.
They were the unseen ground beneath every decision,
and every journey.

In Handimovers, the Norns are not characters but conditions:

  • The terrain that changes without warning.

  • The needs that arise before we are ready.

  • The consequences of choosing motion over stagnation.

  • The responsibility we carry when someone trusts us with their path.

Where the threads descend,
consequences gather.

Not as judgement,
but as gravity.

Every choice sends a signal downward —
into terrain, into bodies, into lives that must carry the result.

This is where motion stops being an idea
and becomes responsibility.

The Norns do not decide for us.
They ensure that what we set in motion
will be met — somewhere, by someone.

Handimovers exists here.
Not above the threads,
not outside them —

but where they are taken seriously.
