What is a Reiðer?

Why we don’t call it a wheelchair.

ᚱ The Reiðer — your ride, your ground

In the old Norse stories, Thor travelled in a simple wagon pulled by two goats.
The sagas never gave the wagon a name — they simply called it Reið:

The Reið, the movement, the journey forward.

We borrow that word.

A Reiðer is the word we use for your base — the chair, frame, or platform you already trust.
Not a diagnosis.
Not a limitation.

When a Handimover adds drive and control, your Reiðer becomes a vehicle.

A Reiðer is your ride — the foundation you shape,
and the one a Handimover empowers when the ground turns rough.

We don’t replace it.

We build onto it.
We carry its strength forward.

A Reiðer is not what you sit in.
It’s what carries you on your path.

ᚱ — Your ride begins where side-walks end.
