Share with Respect – Don’t break the bones to get the marrow.

I made it to the top of the hill in my wheelchair just before sunset and the sky is and the surroundings are bathed in pink, what a wonderful world.

The Handimover concept is shared in good faith to promote mobility, dignity, and independence — especially in rural, remote, and humanitarian settings.

It is built on openness, responsibility, and mutual respect.

At the same time, some forms of use require structure, commitment, and permission.

This page explains the difference.

Open Use — Non-Commercial

You are welcome to:

  • Study, adapt, and improve the Handimover concept for non-commercial purposes

  • Use the ideas in education, research, humanitarian aid, and local initiatives

  • Share knowledge and experiences openly, so others may learn and build upon them

This openness exists to support freedom, not exploitation.

Structured Use — Commercial & Organised Activity

When the Handimover concept is used in commercial, repeated, or organised contexts, a different framework is required.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Manufacturing or selling Handimover-based solutions

  • Offering paid tours, rentals, or services

  • Operating under the Handimover name, symbols, or identity

  • Establishing local or regional operations built on the concept

In these cases, use is not open by default.

Instead, we work through structured partnerships or franchise-style agreements.

Why Structure Matters

Handimover is not just a product.
It is a system of values, safety principles, and lived experience.

Structure ensures that:

  • Quality and safety are respected

  • Local operators are supported rather than left alone

  • Knowledge flows both ways — from the field and back again

  • The name is not diluted or misused

Structure is how openness survives scale.

Franchise & Partnership Path

A franchise or partnership is not about control —
it is about shared responsibility.

It may include:

  • Access to designs, documentation, and updates

  • Use of the Handimover name and identity

  • Technical guidance and field experience

  • Mutual learning across regions and environments

Details are shaped together, case by case.

What You May Not Do Without Permission

You may not:

  • Use the Handimover concept in commercial products or services without agreement

  • Patent the solution, or any part derived from it

  • Prevent others from learning, repairing, or improving the technology within this framework

Breaking the bones to get the marrow helps no one.
